My career began in print. Growing up the son of a second generation printer, you can say that messaging through printed media was more or less genetically ingrained. I had the great fortune to be exposed early and continuously to advertising and design.
The natural evolution of my career pushed into marketing. That began a subtle addiction to focused insights and strategy centered communication. I found myself entrenched in direct marketing and was convinced that effective communication was equal parts message, visualization and science. And digital was leading the way. The intrinsic beauty of digital/interactive consumed me quite simply because it is a fast moving channel that can be measured as quickly as it could be changed.
It became quickly evident that by becoming a better online strategist, I improved how I approached offline media. Which makes sense. Digital media is dimensional media. It takes an understanding of sight, sound and motion and it requires an orchestration of layers.
So where do I stand today? You might say right where the 2 worlds collide. Born by the fire of print. A strategist by nature. Living and loving digital. With a splash of crazy sprinkled here and there.
